So here is the problem, once my car's gas tank starts going below half a tank the car will lose power as if it is going to die then it speed back up again on it's own, whether I am doing hwy speeds or city driving it does that problem. Also now once it starts getting to where the gas light comes on if I am at a red light it will shake a bit then lose power completely, the battery light comes on but everything electrical works (radio, lights...etc) I looked everywhere on the internet to see if people are having the same problem with their Golfs as well as called VW corp but no luck. Now I am stuck with a unreliable car. If you have any idea what is going on with my car please answer. =) Thanks You!
I own a 2004 VW Golf GLS automatic. I have taken it to two dealerships and one German Car mechanic. All three places have ran a diagnostic test on it and they can't seem to find the problem even when take is half empty. All they give me is that my spark plugs and thermostat needs to be change so I doubt that is causing the problem. The transmission and fuel pump are fine per what they told me.
