Hello, I am having 2 problems with my 2005 Ford Focus ZX4.
Thanks in advance for any in-put! (This will be the 4th time I go to a mechanic in 3 weeks for this stupid car!)
1) I recently had a mechanice do brake work on the rear of my car becuase he told me I needed to. (he replaced the drums and shoes) But I was feeling pulsation and went back and he put on another set. Then they were squeaking terribly all the time, and I went back a 3rd time and he put on yet another set. Now they pulsate again...
2) I am getting "tapping" and "squeaking" noises from my front wheels (at ALL times, not just during braking or turning). How rapid the taps or squeaks relates to my speed. If I go slow the tapping noises slow down etc etc. The mechanic said this is because of "warped front rotors."
So basically this guy wants to put "Ford Brand drums and shoes" in the back to stop the pulsating, and replace these rotors in the front to stop the squeaking and tapping.
But Im not sure I want to go back to this guy a 4th time honestly....
What should I do? How much should this extra work cost me?
Thanks again,
-Frustrated with the Focus and a maxed out credit card.
UPDATE:
So I should go back to this guy?
Can "warped" rotors in the front really cause tapping and squeaking noises even when Im not applying the brakes?
