2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GT heater problems?

Okay, so my girlfriend started up our car the other day (in the very very cold weather) and the heater went out! She said she let it warm up for about 15 minutes before going anywhere. I checked it out and it seems that when you turn the fan knob on, it makes some humming and clicking noises in the dash, but nothing blows out. I tried turning on the a/c, but that doesn't seem to matter as nothing blows out either. I had someone check out the fuses and they said they didn't look burned out. Could it be the fuses? Could it be wiring? Could it be the blower motor? Anyone have similar experience??

I have been a mechanic for many years, I have seen this problem on a lot of GM products. Mostly the Pontiac vehicles. The problem has been the blower motor being burnt out. Need to replace the blower motor. I have also seen the fan relay switch. (located under the hood) blown out and needed to be replaced. This however has been very few issues. Most of the time it has been the blower itself. Good luck and I hope this helps.
