3ds or the dsi system?

i own the first version of the ds and never cared to uprade to dsi. now that the 3ds came out. should i buy 3ds or dsi?
I heard and read that 3ds does everything the dsi can plus more.
knowing 3ds games may be the only ds game in the future. I think the 3ds is the better choice. am I correct?
i decided to get the 3ds. mostly for animal crossing 3ds.
 
DS to DSi isn't really much of an upgrade.

I would recommend upgrading to the 3DS, as it can play DS, DSi, 3DS games, as well as other features.
 
Yep, absolutely correct. The 3DS is the upgraded version of the DSi, It's much better in every way.
Definitely worth getting :]
