8 Gauge 220Amp Booster/Jumper Cables. Medium duty,are they well for must cars

and SUV's & not to overheat wire?

I've read never buy 10 gauge because they wire is thin, but are the 8guage wires descent enough for the average car & suv? 220amp clamps as well.
I should add I do have a couple other sets of heavier cables. like 6 & 4 gauge.

I AM JUST INQUIRING AS TO THE EFFECTIVENESS OF 8 GAUGE JUMPER CABLES.
