In the late 80s/early 90s I saw some anime about man-operated mechas. The plot seems to be rotating around some kind of crystals (hexagon in shape) used to power up those mechas. The mechas have a very distinctive feature in side the cockpit: they have some piano-like keyboard, and the keys light up when pressed.
That's all I can remember. The dialogs were beyond my comprehension as my English was rather basic back then.
