I have an 8mm cassette camcorder. It is several years old. It was never dropped and it never got wet. I've had the heads professionally cleaned, but not aligned. This is the problem:
It turns on fine and the record functions seem to work fine, but the playback is semi-functional. When I hit play the picture is not fully clear (which is not unexpected, because the tapes are older, so that's okay) but the sound is iffy (it cuts out) and it is playing as if the tape is fast fowarding, sound and picture are going faster than they should be. I don't even want to use this as a recorder anymore (I've since upgraded) but I do want to be able to transfer the tape I have before it is all too late.
