9 month old gets up on all fours and screams when put down to sleep?

My 9 month old seems to be starting to learn to crawl. She hasn't mastered it yet but gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth for a while before dropping back to the floor. For the past 4 nights, i have put her down at bedtime (she usually goes off to sleep without a fuss) and as soon as i take my hands off her, she rolls over, gets up on her hands and knees and screams bloody murder. So i roll her back over, kiss and cuddle her and try again.. and again and again... same thing happens when she wakes in the middle of the night.

My question is, is this to do with her learning to crawl? will it stop when she figures it out?
