91 Chrysler New Yorker Transmission Problems. Will a flush help?

I recently acquired a 91 Chrysler New Yorker from my aunt. When I first got the car, my transmission was shifting very late when it was cold, and would jump into limp mode if I accelerated too quickly or slowed down from highway speed. I replaced the transmission filter and about 1 1/2 gallons of fluid andI'm still having the same problems. A family friend said I needed to get a transmission flush. Do you think this will fix my problem.

Incorrect transmission fluid (cost: $40-60) - most common problem! (even in 2008)
Computer needs retraining (cost: time, so try this as soon as you’ve changed the fluid)
Solenoid pack (cost: about $60-$150 plus labor. May just be clogged.)
Ground strap broken/missing - may be misdiagnosed as needing a new transmission and/or computer! (cost: $10)
Bad input sensor (very common!) - “Can be seen on scan tool screen as input rpm —if it’s 0, replace the sensor.”
Computer firmware needs upgrade (cost: Chrysler dealer should do this for free; may be up to $200)
Incorrect filter used
Loose electrical connection
Torque converter problems - see the bump shift section
Note: if you are having the "bump shift" see the bump shift section, below.

Problem with a car that old... if it hasn't had the fluid flushed and changed prior... you are asking for bigger problems than you have now... but then again... at this point it won't hurt to try.

No, but if I'm not mistaken, ford C-4 C-6 and some Chryslers have an adjustment on the side of the tranny, a bolt with a jam nut on it, if you find it, loosen jam nut tighten until it just feels finger tight and back off a quarter turn and tighten jam nut. Hope you have one if not, look for a rebuilt or used tranny on ebay motors.
