I have no idea what the problem is. I took my Jeep out in my backyard today and went offroading with it and got stuck a few times but managed to get out. When I parked and turned off the Jeep because I was almost out of gas and went to my shed to get more gas, I filled the tank up and the Jeep would not start up. When you turn the key everything turns on like it normally does and you can hear the belts all being turned so I dont think it would be the starter. The battery is good so that is not the problem. I had a few people come over and take a look at it earlier today and they all said something about a coil because when I would attempt to turn the Jeep on there would be no spark from the spark plugs. Another person told me I may have shorted out a coil or distibutor cap or something when I was offroading because the engine was soaked as well as everything else under the hood because there was water splashing up getting all over everything. If anyone knows anything about this please let me know, thanks. It also cant be the starter because it wouldn't turn over if it was the starter.
This is pretty much what it does...

I have seen this before on Jeeps. More then likely you need to replace the crank angle sensor. The symptoms you describe are usually connected to this type of failure. It is not hard to replace. It sits over the bell-housing and has one or two wires connected to it. The sensor is held on by two 10mm screws. This is not a hard job Steve Wonders could it. Hope this solves the problem.

t sure sounds like the coil is bad are the coil wire has came off. I'm not sure if you have a coil pack are if the coil is in the top of the distributor cap. If it's not one of these parts, the only other thing i can thank if would be that it jumped time

Yeah, If the starter works and you have no spark then it would be the ignition most likely. Search youtube for how to test a coil and distributor.
