Our project car is a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST Spyder, with the DOHC 2.0 turbo engine, everything is stock(except the battery and other givens). The car has plenty of miles on it, more than 100k. We have minor maintenance experience and a somewhat tight budget, so we aren't taking this in to the shop if we can avoid it, and there is not a hurry to get the project finished. Here's the thing. The arc to the fourth cylinder is really weak. We have done enough troubleshooting to figure out it is not the spark plug, battery or spark plug wire. I am under the impression that it is the distributor throwing is off, but could anything else be messing it up? We don't want to go buy a distributor if that is not the problem, but I can't figure out what else could be messing us up? Just the distributor, right?
