i have a 98 vw beetle. i bought it for my gf and its just sitting for the time being. i went to start it the other day as i always do. but i held the key to the unlock position to roll down the windows. than i opened the door and the alarm went off (steady horn beep) so after about 3-4 minutes of trying to lock and unlock the car. i disconnected the battery. after i re connected it. the alarm stopped and i was able to get in the car. i went to start it... pushed in the clutch.. and it would not turn over. i can turn on the lights and windshield wipers. but the trunk, gas cap and the radio wont open/turn on. i still cant turn it on. all the dash light still work. I'm really confused on what is going on with the car.
