car blew up,thick black smoke!? The car is now un-drivable. Its a Vauxhall Vectra N reg 1.7 Turbo Deisel. The mechanic is denying that the oil was to blame. Does this sound feesable? as i thought ANY mechanic would know too much oil will split the engine seals and blow up????
Any answers?
thanks

what usually happens if a diesel engine is over filled with oil is it will lift the oil into the induction system through the crank breathers, causing the engine to run on at full throttle, the engine would not turn off with the ignition, the only way to stop the engine would be to stall it, sounds like the turbo.

sounds like you need to see a lawyer or if the mechanic has a boss, you need to see if they will speak to you. A lot of times independent mechancis are great, but they make mistakes too.
