a rock fell off a construction truck and hit my windshield?

there is a nasty crack in my front windshield now. how should I go about getting this repaired? Should I just call up my insurance peeps or contact the company of the truck and try and explained to them what happened? The driver of the truck was obliviously to what happened btw, but I still took down his plate number. What do you think?
 
Just save yourself the hassle and have it replaced, besides you cant prove the rock came from that particular company's truck.
It's just not worth the headache.
 
First, call your insurance guy. My State Farm policy will replace the windshield without the deductible no questions asked. Getting the trucking company to pay for it will be a struggle, for sure....
