About Prince Harry using the word "Paki"?

I'm having a debate at school about whether it was wrong or not for Harry to use that word. I have to argue that it was, and to help my argument, I'd like to know:

1. Was anyone else calling that Pakistani officer a Paki, or was it just Prince Harry?

2. How did the Pakistani officer react to the term?

Can anyone help me?

Of all the racist terms I have heard, this one seems pretty mild. He just needs to remember that he is ALWAYS in the spotlight and try not to say dumb things.
