...think). Healing hints? Hi. Just thought I'd ask this as there's so much conflicting opinion out there. I accidentally caught the tip of a hot iron plate on my chest and now have what I think is a minor second degree burn about 2 x 1cm in size. The skin blanches (goes white) when pressed and there is a wet appearance to the wound. I assume this is my skin trying to heal itself. I am keeping the wound as moist as I can, using Acriflex Cooling Burn Gel and Vitamin E serum to keep it wet, but not much progress so far (accident occured this a few days ago) though it looks much less inflamed. Would should I do to make it heal faster? Should I just let it dry out and apply the Vitamin E serum to reduce scarring. I've been keeping it covered with Acriflex (to keep it moist) and a clean plaster every day but not much seems to have happened. Should I just keep going? I've considered using Silver Healing Plasters but apparently you can't use them on weeping wounds. Any alternatives? Should I let it dry out and let nature take its course or just keep the area moisturised? Thanks in advance.
