All of a sudden all of my chocolate chip cookie recipes turn out too cakey, not

chewy,...? ...what's up?
I've tried all different kinds of recipes, techniques, added ingredients, etc. I CAN'T CRACK THE MYSTERY! They used to be so good, flatter, chewier, not dry, but had a lovely snap to them. I can't figure out what I've inadvertently changed to cause this!
 
Have you tried backing some without twisting things around? Maybe using more baking soda or powder? Too many eggs? Something has had to change the chemistry of the cookie dough, and in the baking the slightest thing could effect how the cookies turn out.
 
Only thing I can think of is maybe something in it is older than usual.
