Media Player has stopped working"!? About two days ago this started happening, I felt like watching a video (that happened to be in AVI format) so I ran it, it automatically opened in Windows Media Player, and then immediately brought up the Windows Vista error thing that says "Windows Media Player has stopped working. Windows is collecting more information about the problem. This may take several minutes..."
I then tried using my other video player, Winamp, and it gave me the exact same error! It isn't a problem with the file because I tried multiple files from different sources and still recieved the same error. I also tried different video formats to test it and I found that it was only AVI's that refused to play in either player. Then I downloaded DivX and played it in that. It worked perfectly with no errors. The error message Windows Media Player eventually gave me included some details that it wanted to send to Microsot so they could solve the problem. Here is the details:
Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Users\Colin\AppData\Local\Temp\WERBA6A.tmp.version.txt
C:\Users\Colin\AppData\Local\Temp\WER13E0.tmp.appcompat.txt
C:\Users\Colin\AppData\Local\Temp\WER1632.tmp.mdmp

Any help would be very much appreciated!! thanks!!
The videos also work in Quicktime and I tried reinstalling Winamp and it still didn't work.
