I would say however it depends on if you want loud boomy bass or sound quality. The Eclipse subwoofers will produce boomy bass while the alpines are more sound quality orientated. Difference in loudness will not be a factor because they will be ran by the same amp (equal power). Compared to one 10" type x, two 10" subwoofers will hit harder than one 10" because it has twice the amount of cone area if supplied each setup is supplied with the same amount of power.
