2 months ago my alternator went out. I replaced the brushes and diode pack (which was MELTED) and it's worked fine until today. I was sitting in traffic and I heard my alternator shut down. All of my dashboard warning lights came on (as they did the last time it went bad) but after driving a ways the lights went off and everything was fine. Next stop light, alternator quits and warning lights come on. My question is....what would burn my diodes out so quickly? Also...any other suggestions? Thank You!!!!!
