Am I the only one who enjoyed the movie, "The Spirit" with Gabriel Macht and Samuel
L Jackson? LOL? It seems every review I've read so far about The Spirit doesn't favour the movie so much. I think the problem is that too many people are comparing it too much with Sin City (which i am now glad I have not yet seen as it gives me another movie to look forward to) instead of allowing the new movie to set it's own flavour.
I went in to see The Spirit without any expectations and was quite entertained throughout. Once you catch on that they're sorta taking the piss (i.e. not taking it seriously) then the deliberate bad acting from supposedly great actors becomes comedic and you'll get a few laughs out of it. Thoroughly enjoyed the visual effects which seem best on the huge theatre screen. Not much substance in the story/plot itself but hey, it's a comic strip adaptation.
