Amazing summer vacation ideas with things to do???

My friends and I (there are about 15 of us) want to go somewhere as our own senior class trip. We want it to be on or very near a beach and somewhere in the U.S. (no out of country...) We were looking for somewhere besides Myrtle Beach, but something on that coastline, possibly southern towards Texas. Moneys not a big, but if cost efficient great! We're from Ohio, and we want something for like a week or two... Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, we only have a couple of months.
 
How about Panama City Beach in Florida. It is a great beach, probably not too crowded, and there are great places to stay that are not too expensive. Panama City Beach is among the more beautiful along the Panhandle shoreline, where blinding white sheets of quartz sand meet the clear emerald water of the Gulf of Mexico.
 
Key west in beautiful! I dont know if its to far for you though, but it really is amazing and alot to do there too.
