...fraudulent representation? I unfortunately found myself needing and attorney to fight CPS to regain custody of my children, due to allegations that my son was molested by my ex-husband. I hired and paid cash for a private attorney. The attorney kept insisting that I agree to the the social workers reports, and allow the county to take jurisdiction over my children, despite my relentless protesting. He repeatedly assured my it was what was best for my case. I was in a different court room (on a separate matter for my mom) and witnessed the judge and court staff congratulating my attorney (who was present in the court room on an unrelated matter for someone else) On his new position working for the county. During my disbelief and shock he turned to me and said "Oh yeah I was meaning to tell you about that, please call my office so we can talk about it later"

It turns out for months he has been undergoing the screening process to obtain and employment contract with the very same county I hired him to oppose my case with. At our next court hearing for my children he informed me that we had no choice but to agree because he will be excusing himself from my case as he will be working for the county within the next couple of weeks, upon hearing my objection he retorted with " Well I don't really want to do anything that will piss them off, I have to work with these people".

I am devastated that after taking all of my social workers reports to an different attorney to have them reviewed, the new attorney (which I hired out of pocket once again) Stated that I never should have agreed to anything in the reports and that my position has been very compromised and it will be very difficult to clean up the mess that has been created by the other attorney.

I know the hiring process to work for the county, is very lengthy. This attorney knew well in advance of take my retainer fee that he was seeking to be ongoing representation for the opposing side in my case. Yet he said nothing to me, and did nothing but (in my opinion and the opinion of many others) pave they way for the county to railroad me, and my children. This situation has to be wrong in some way and there must be some sort of recourse for me isn't there?

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO HOLD THIS ATTORNEY ACCOUNTABLE?
