Anime/Manga recommendations? (Blood+, Deathnote, Code Geass)?

I want some recommendations on any new anime similar to the ones above. I like the "dark" theme of Blood+ and Deathnote. Sword/medievel weaponry, and the battle of whits thing that both Code Geass and Deathnote have. The ironic twists and turns, things aimed to a more mature audience. (Things like Bleach and Naruto are kind of "cheesy" or "childish"). Nothing like DBZ where there's overly muscled guys and delayed fight scenes (like where you anticipate a fight the whole episode and nothing happens until the next episode and come to find that the fight sucks). I also like things where there's no definate protagonist or antagonist, like deathnote where you might think Light's the protagonist and L is the antagonist until later in the show when you see Light becomes selfish and uses people. I don't mind reading mangas or watching shows that only have subs. As long as you don't have to buy 50 manga books or the subs aren't accurate.
