I'm looking for some kind of online resource that deals with the very best in recorded classical music; in other words recordings which are especially prized by both professional critics and "ordinary" listeners. There are many websites which claim to review "audiophile" albums, but they very often sell and/or publish them as well which, obviously, isn't the best way to go about things.
So, does anyone know of any independant, vested-interest-free forums or websites that discuss & recommend high-quality albums? The critic Arthur Salvatore has a very good website which has a list of recommended albums but I'd really like to get into discussions of why they're better than the average, etc.
I've bought too many albums, in recent years, that sound absolutely appalling. Thank you.
