potatoes" man? My boyfriend decides what he wants to eat the minute he is hungry. He hates that I plan meals a week ahead and would prefer we go to the store each day instead or actually he prefers we just run out and get fast food because he is hungry right now and does not want to wait for me to cook it. Right now I have beans, eggs, and veggies in the house but he does not want this he wants to go out an get something. It is so frustrating! I alos want to mention he is a little overweight and does not exercise. I am trying my hardest to get him to eat healthy and maybe start exercising.Any food ideas that would be a compromise to make him happy?

Try corned beef and potato hash or ham and potato hash. That's great!!

I have a feeling your boyfriend doesn't like food, he just likes to eat.
Seems to me taste isn't what he's after

My husband is also a meat and potatoes guy but he loves beans and rice or loaded scrambled eggs. I cook beans in my crock pot with diced tomatoes, onion, jalapenos, garlic, cumin, and salt and pepper. I cook them about 6 hours on high then serve over rice topped with cheese. For the eggs I use veggie sausage (you could use regular), bell peppers, jalapenos, onion and sometimes tomatoes or mushrooms when I have them. Top with cheese if you want to. Sometimes I use pita bread and make a roll up sandwich with the eggs. Or maybe an omelet would work? This is what I tell my family: I make what I make and if you don't like it you can make something else yourself or go hungry. We shouldn't have to be short order cooks! Another thing I do if I am pressed for time is fry some potatoes then add eggs and scramble them together and I also make toast to go with it. It's pretty good and it's cheap and filling.

I must be with your boyfriends twin. Yes it is frustrating!!
I just cook what I want, if he doesn't like it then he knows where the phone is. I figure he will phone a order anyway so why bother.
If I do make something he will eat I then have the problem with left overs which he will not eat.All I can say is make sure you eat and let him decide if he wants it or not.
I will make suggestions for what we could have for dinner and sometimes that works out well. Good luck.

Sounds as if you already know what's healthy and good. Just cook it...put it in front of him and sit down to eat. He'll eventually figure it out. You're very smart to not shop day by day. It's much more expensive than the planning you are doing. Smart Lady! By the way...if you spoil him by letting him do this now....plan on it for the rest of your life together! Do what you know is right!
