The place that looks best to me is Tulsa Oklahoma, but I really want to stay in the west where we have family (so preferably 800 miles or less from Southern California). So, qualifications:
1. I like small towns surrounded by farmland. My husband, on the other hand, really likes views of mountains (another reason to stay in the West).
2. Long growing season
3. Good environment for teachers (thus California and probably Oregon are out).
4. Less expensive land/houses
I was thinking about somewhere in Idaho, maybe near-ish to Boise. Anyone have any advice?
