Any PS3 experts out there that could help me troubleshoot a blue-ray issue?
I have a PS3, I have had it for about 2 years, but use it very, very infrequently. Sometimes i go a month in between using it. For a long time all i did was play games on it, but I recently purchased an HDTV so now I am getting into watching BlueRay discs using my PS3. The 1st few I have watched worked fine. But then last night I went to play one that I rented from blockbuster and it did not work. I thought it must be the disc so I tried a blueray that I own and have watched before, and that did not work either. So I tried a PS3 game and that worked fine so I assumed the problem was an issue reading bluerays, but today I tried a couple more blueray discs and about half of them will load and work fine, and the other half do not. I am really confused!! I figured it would either play all or none, not just a select few? So I guess me question is, are there any common problems with the PS3 having this issue? Has anyone else had this same experience? I plan on bringing it in to a place that repairs the systems this weekend but if someone on here could help me before that, that would be great! Also, about 2 months ago my system just stopped reading everything, the main menu would pop up but no discs would load, I ended up bringing in to be serviced and they replaced the laser (?? i think thats what it was called?) So I dont see how that could be the problem again? Thank you for your time and sorry this is such a long question.
