Anybody know if it's possible to unlock a T-mobile phone?

I found a brand new T-mobile blackberry on the floor of a taxi cab, but unfortunately the battery has been dead since I found it so I can't find the rightful owner for it. I've had this phone for the past 2 weeks, so I'm sure the owner has moved on anyway. Once I'm able to have the phone charged I will attempt to find the owner, but I kind of hope I don't, so I can keep it...hehe but who doesn't want that?

So my question is...is it possible for me to unlock the phone so that I can use my provider with it? The phone is a T-mobile Blackberry curve 8900 and I have a Sprint blackberry.

All GSM Cell Phones can be unlocked all you need the the correct software. I heard alot of people who work in the Cell Phone stores will do it for cash into the hand around $20 but not the people who working in the big Cell Stores . The best thing to do is try it in a small town and whatever you do don't let your Cell out of your sight. The can remotely unlock it or the give you a code to type it its starts with *pw#

Its more common in Europe to do this so when you go on a Holiday you don't roam you just buy a prepaid sim card and put some money on it and when your going home break it and chuck it in the bin.
That's why the is so many unregistered simcards in Europe.

Don't try google the free unlocking software cos alot of the sites are riddled with virus +
