Twilight when it first came out in 2005 interested people because it was original for the Vampire/werewolf genre. However, where i stand is this. A book isnt about how attached you get to it or how much you can relate to it. Its what you can take from the book and be able to think during your day "What did i subcontiously learn from a fictional book" (which for those who dont know, is why all TV shows after each episode have to have a moral to them) When i hear about these people such as the person from the first page second post, they drive me crazy because of the things they take from the book. The book was meant to attract a certain audience which it did. However, i dont like to book because it wasnt my cup of tea. I grew up with Vampires and Lycans and Shapshifters, and big foot and Aliens, and they all have a lore to them. When someone writes a book that deviates from the oringal lore compleatly, i havent an interest. Does that mean i havent read the books? No, i've read them all and at times i found it humerous and then at times i knew that in the end you would get people who would respond to critisism with..."What is your name phone number and adress so i can hunt you down and kill you with my awesome vampire powers i aquired from reading this book!!!!!!" You are going to get kids who think this stuff is reality, which has been a theme for years. When Dungeons and Dragons came out you had people who would mentaly zone out because all they could think about was how to slay the goblen that night or rescue the princess. People are probably going to think that "Well, one day im going to meet my Edward and im going to get married and we are going to blah blah" And its pathetic. Twilight, is one of the worst peaces of literature i've ever read after seeing the reaction it had on so many of its readers. Some of you are probably thinking "Man this guy just desicrated the bible of geek-dom" Well, im a 18 year old guy with a sense of moral integrity, and i feel if somone didnt tell you to put the f-ing book down, no one would. Your welcome.
