EVERYTHING!? I am a democrat and I can honestly say that I am so sick of every little thing that a Republican does, Dems jump all over it and blow it way out of proportion, and vice versa. I just wish everyone would stop b*tching about every little thing and try to find a common ground. Being a Dem. I think that Fox News is full of idiots *caugh* HANNITY *caugh* O'REILY, that spend their day trying to turn everyone against democrats. I'm fully aware that Dems do the same thing but it seems to me that Republican News channels make a bigger deal out of it.

I just want to see us all get behind Obama and try to support him, whether or not you voted for him. There has never been a president that won every single vote, but the country still was behind them. Obama is not the first pres. to want to pass controvercial legislations. Think about F.D.R. with social security and all these other programs, and now Americans depend on such programs so greatly. So why don't we just see what happens?

Any other opinions on this topic? I'd like to hear from anyone who feels strongly about this.
To Mike, I completely agree. Being a History major I've done a fair amount of research on our founding fathers and their ideologies. Most, I would imagine, would turn over in their graves if they knew what was going on right now.

And to the one who was discussing his portfolio...I am very sorry to hear that and I'm sure there are many many American's who are in the same situation. I live in a small town in west virginia and there are 3 big plants just outside of the limits where i would say 80 to 85 percent of the 6000 citizens work. Just recently one of the plants laid off 1000 workers who probably won't be back. My aunt was the head nurse and she lost her job. So in a sense I can somewhat relate. The only thing I can say is that the chances of this type of situation getting better would not look good no matter who was in charge. Again i am truly sorry about your situation and wish you the best of luck.
 
Simply put:

George Washington did not want political parties, and I 100% agree with him. We are one nation, and one people... political parties just divide us up and cause more controversy than needed... that's why I consider myself more independent.
 
Sorry, I don't want common ground.

What is being proposed affects me personally. The Bush admin caused a plummet in my stock portfolio. The Obama admin is now making changes that directly affects my retirement savings and stock portfolio.

You call it whining, but I would prefer to retire on my own money and not have to take money from you and the rest of the citizens under any government program. I would prefer to determine the quality of my life and not have it dictated by the government.

Just see what happens -- uh, thanks, but no. We are discussing my financial solvency.

That other people lie about their real reasons for opposing this or supporting that is outside of my control.

It annoys me more with republicans though who expect me to let them off with lower taxes for their choice to get married, or have children and then complain that others feed at the trough.
 
I'm sick of the hypocrisy. People reject everything the other party proposes and defends everything their party does.

When liberals protested the war they were called "un-American" and conservatives didn't care about blowing the deficit to fund the war. Now republicans that protest the health care bill are called un-American by the left and now they are suddenly concerned about the deficit and the left doesn't.

It's just so tiring. I don't even like watching or reading the news. Everyone is at each others throats over some overly hyped bs by the media.
It's like two rival football teams trying to keep score over who made a bad comment or who had an affair or what the polls say. It's a circus.
 
The reason there is Police and Law enforcement and American government, is because the DEVIL WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS.
 
i think this is all true, especially the thing about F.D.R. We have to try things before we complain about it, and we can't make FALSE commercials about people dying because Obama is making some sort of 'death list'. If every little thing the President suggested America turned down because of a small population complaining, think about how uncool the country would be. And don't even get me STARTED on Fox News, I could go on for hours about them.

I am too! Thats why I pretend I live in a magical little world where republicans and democrats are best buddies, drink punch, and play charades together! :D
 
It's grotesque - and yet intellectuals or true statesmen who equally detest the publicity and slander game never stand a chance. The war of politics eats them alive and spits them out labeled as the crazy one.

In my opinion, American politics has more in common with American Idol than with actual statesmanship.
