Anyone else notice the low numbers of NASCAR rookies?

Not to say there is none. We have Trevor Bayne, Joey Logano, A.J. Allmendinger, Paul Menard, a few others, but that is it. I mean we have a ton of veterans getting ready to retire in the next 5 years give or take a few. We have Mark Martin, Jeff Gordon, some say Tony Stewart, Greg Biffle, Maybe Ryan Newman, Jeff Burton. We have all these top-caliber drivers ready to retire and no one to fill their spot. Is Bayne going to be a Gordon? Is Allmendinger going to be a Stewart? It just seems like we have nothing in our future.

Joey, A J and Paul have been around for awhile. And Trevor isn't even gonna rum a lot of Cup races. As hard as it is to get sponsorship money (which runs in the millions for Cup cars), owners are very hesitant to use newcomers. Corporations don't want to fork over $10-20mil for some guy the board of directors hasn't heard of. It did work out pretty good a few years back when Lowe's got on board with a Busch series guy who had not won any races in that series and put him in the #48 Cup car, some kid from California named Johnson.

Every race a cup driver drives in the Nationwide series they deprive a rookie from racing. The less starts for new drivers ,the less chance they will ever make it.This is because Nascar is counting the bucks their making now and not worrying about the future. This was a good Question.
