Anyone else think apple is ruining handheld gaming?

3ds or ps vita, sony or nintendo, I think we can agree the games on our portables are (generally) deeper and better than ios games. And yet ios devices are becoming more and more popular for mobile gaming, and dedicated handhelds are shrinking. Crappy games that occupy you for a week or two like angry birds are lowering the bar for mobile games in quality, and I think eventually its going to show. I think apple and their app store are going to kill the quality of mobile gaming soon. Who agrees/disagrees with me?

P.S. I realize there are very good ios games, but overall, I think ios games are significantly worse than dedicated devices.

I do agree with you but times are changing and apple realises this. Yes handheld games were fun and apple games are almost like cheaper versions of these but I do think handheld games are dying out.

Actually, I believe it's the other way around. Casual gaming on phones is sky-rocketing thanks to Apple and it's developers. In the casual sense, it is greatly improving handheld gaming. For the PSP, Vita, and DS, it's ruining them because many casual gamers that bought those devices for casual games can get them on their phone or ipod now. I even think that handheld systems will begin to decline... they're not as popular as games for phones (excluding DS).
