Are dolphins descendants of dogs?

So I heard in my biology class today that dolphins are the only wild creatures who will try to have contact with humans they want to play with them like at sea world much like dogs? Do you think dolphins are related to canines?
 
Yes... Yes, they are. Dolphins evolved from dogs. The reason we have dogs in modern day society is because... Well, sometimes, dolphins give birth to mentally handicapped dolphin babies. The dolphins don't want such children, so put them up for adoption for us humans. Now you know :)
