I've been trying to get a decent bicycle, one that I can commute on for a fairly long distance. However, I've been broadsided by the fact that I might be forced to get a "folding bike".
So, my question is thus: for all you bikers out there, will the relatively cheap folding bikes be any good for distances of 15 miles or more?

Edit: I need to have a folding bike for various reasons, ones that prevent a fixed bike, much to my dismay. There's no real work-around.
The question is more if I should bother trying to commute on a folder at all.
