Are Ford Mustangs reliable cars ?

I've always wanted a mustang and heard both possitive and negative things about them. I'm thinking about getting a 2009 mustang but I can't decide if I should get it. If you own a mustang any information about the cars performance, reliability, and quality would really help me decide if I should get one. And if you don't have a mustang your feedback would be nice too. Thanks!
 
The new Mustangs are made very well. US automakers produce very good vehicles and you can expect it to last for a long time. All the powerteams (engine and transmission, and differential) selections for the mustang are very durable. Some of the ultra high performance models eg Saleen, Shelby, ect... will have higher maintaenance schedules and less reliability than the standard units.

Now is a great time to buy a new american car because they are going real cheap.

In fact, you can now buy a brand new Corvette for 46,000.00 these days (standard issue, no options)
