Well it's not a Wrangler BUT, My wife has a 99 Cherokee with a little over 200K mi. and she a rural carrier for the post office, That adds up to a lot of very hard miles. The engine is the 4.0 in line 6, these are good tuff engines as long as you don't over heat them. Just pay close attention to the Jeep when you are looking listen for any noises you think are strange, when you drive it feel any strange vibrations or slips, as strange as it sounds the car will tell you if anything is wrong. Soft tops are cold in winter and they don't last but a few years and are pricey to replace, I would say go with the hard top that you can take off! Hope this helped, Good luck
