Hi... I'm going to view a Mazda MX5 at the weekend. I've never had a sports car before, and have always driven front wheel drive cars such as a Ford Fiesta and a Vauxhall Astra. I've had a few off the cuff comments from my mates such as 'enjoy being stuck in the ice' and 'you'll crash in winter'. I'm just wondering if the MX5 is as dangerous as it sounds, and if it's a safe car to have in the UK (bearing in mind we have winter for about 6 months of the year with lots of rain, ground frost, black ice, ice, and occasional snow).
