Are mussels that are pre-cooked but open before reheating OK to eat?

I bought some pre-cooked mussels in a garlic butter sauce the other day and I plan to have them for dinner tomorrow. They came in a vacuum packed bag with the sauce already in and they were from the fridge, not the freezer. I notice on the instructions it says to discard any that do not open during reheating - but I can see some that are already open in the packaging and I was wondering if I should discard these too? They are definitely already pre-cooked.

I have had a look around on here but other answers apply to pre-cooked 'frozen' mussels, not the refrigerated ones. Thanks in advance!

Yes, they are safe as long as they have opened. The cooking process opens them. They just don't want anyone to force open a shell and eat that.
