Are my birds gay?

ok i own these to cockatils and and i have had them for about 2 years now and the one i think is a female never layed an egg even though she stays in the nesting box a lot of the time and a couples i have seen them "doing it" like when im passing the cage or something and they both do not have marking of a fmale so why are they acting gay?
