are the transmissions in a ford f150, and a ford explorer interchangeable?

i have a ford f150, 1995 v8 engine, the transmission is going out on it and the four wheel drive doesn't work. what i need to know is if my 92 ford explorer, the transmission is compatible? also, is it possible to leave off the box for the four wheel drive if it is? since it doesn't work? the engine on the explorer is blown that's why im considering using the transmission if i can.

All I have to tell you is get a warranty cuz for my 03 dodge durango I had over 4 parts and the warranty paid for it and I have to go back now like 2 weeks later to put 4 more parts in
