Are there any healthy snacks that actually help to keep you awake late at night?

I have a late-night driving job and I sometimes get a bit drowsy while on the road. I'm tired of buying snacks that are loaded with sugar in order to stay awake, and I'm also trying to lessen my soda intake.

I've found that when I eat carrots, of all things, they will help me to stay awake, but I need other alternatives as well. I'm afraid if I bring carrots on the road with me every night, I'll grow bored of them quickly and start buying sugary snacks again.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anything worked for you before, to keep you awake (besides coffee, of course)?
