As a closet lesbian/gay, how do you deal with..?

... hearing the people you love bash homosexual people, hearing them call us all the names under the sun, but have to just sit there and take it? My family are so hateful towards gay people and it hurts.

But it's got to the point where I don't defend homosexual rights any longer incase they might realise that I'm defending them because I AM homosexual myself!
 
That does sound like a horrible situation.

the choice is either just come out to them, but that may not end up in the best circumstances.

Saying that, I think you can never tell how somebody will react when they come out. I have had friends come out, and the ones you xpected to not like it/have issue's with it, were fine & didn't really care, and vice versa. but of corse, there were some that didn't like it at all.

Its a huge gamble, but the only other thing is to carry on in the closet, that must be difficult.

I have also known people go to Uni/travelling the world & then come out while away, and its not so bad when they come back because its been so long and your use to it.

iF YOU AR3 JUSz COM3 OUT dA ClOS3T. iM PRETTY SUR3 UR FRIENDS && FAMILY Will START TO UNDERSTAND THEM && EXCEPT YOU FOR WHO YOU ARE... BUT IF YOURE NOT HOMOSEXUAL THEN JUS EXPLAIN TO UR FRIENDS AND FAMILY THAT ITS NOT RIGHT TO MAKE FUN OF PPL LIKE DAT... CUZ WE EACH HAVE OUR DIFFERENCE...HOPE THIS HELPS
