As a outside observer could someone please tell me about mysticism?

Mystics seem to see things differently, it confounds my advanced highly logical mind.
It is the subject of endless speculation between me and my peers.
We now refer to mysticism as quantum psychology, because it seems to conform to quantum mechanics, but sense it's a personal attribute we are befuddled by it.
