Recently I decided to become a vegetarian because meat is unhealthy and it also started to gross me out.  So if I go to a family function or somewhere they're serving meat, is it ok if I eat it in a social setting to avoid a scene?  I just don't want to be rude and refuse to eat whatever they are serving, especially since I eat other things on occasion that are unhealthy like chocolate and ice cream.  I also find onions gross but I will eat them to avoid a scene.  So is eating meat the same scenario?I also hate the idea of animal cruelty and killing but at someone else's house it's already dead so that's not really an issue.</blockquote>
