At&t and Verizon minutes usage?

I have AT&T phones and I was wondering what time of the day I can call Verizon phones without losing my minutes?
Does it cost long distance if I'm in a different state and calling another Verizon customer?
 
They shouldnt charge you roaming, i would call Att and find out if you get roaming for free. it will be counted as your regular minutes. And After 9 and weekends it will be free calling.
