I have noticed a growing love affair that atheists and various anti-Christians have had with Mr. Rogers and I'm wondering if he is the only professing Christian to be viewed as "good" by those of you who are either atheist or anti-Christian. If not, then can you name some other examples of "good Christians"? Seriously wondering...

I didn't know Mr Rogers was a Christian, but I like him and think more people should be like him... So yes?

I think that any Christians who practice their faith without feeling the urge to force me or others to practice it too is a good christian. That includes, of course, keeping religion out or our laws and out of our schools. So, that makes my neighbors good Christians, since they leave me alone about their beliefs.
.
And for the most part, this includes most Catholics I have known. Notwithstanding the errors of the church leadership re: the child abuse scandals, Catholics as individuals have been decent people one and all. There have been a few with whom I've worked for years before realizing they were Catholic. So, whatever else can be said about the Catholic church, as individuals I think they are outstanding.
.
Unfortunately most fundamentalists and evangelicals don't fall into that category. We've probably all known some mutt who can't let a chance go by without working their beliefs into a conversation. That lot is a blight upon the land.
.
As I've typed this, I've been trying to think of any celebrities. No others leap to mind, probably because they are the ones who mind their own business and not mine.

Mr. Rogers was a very good man. I don't care who you are, or what you believe. He truly loved kids.

Mr. Rogers will be greatly missed.

No.

There are several "good" theists.

I would be willing to label any theist as "good" as one who is respectful of others regardless of belief, one who doesnt try to pass laws and regulations that impose their beliefs onto others and one who doesn't push for a religious myth to be taught as science in PUBLIC schools.

Frankly, I never give Mr. Rogers a thought. What a bizarre claim.

I can think of plenty of good Christians. I'd name Dietrich Bonhoeffer for starters.

I'm not an atheist, but even when I was very little, there was just something about that dude that just weirded me out. Something just seemed way out of place about him. I despised watching his show for the matter.

I never thought of him as a Christian...

Just a good man...

I never ask anyone their religious or political persuasion as I don't care. I let their actions speak for them... anyone can claim to be something...

TD is hilarious...

IMHO
