I've recently been struck with a tremendous idea. It's not exactly the sort of idea that describes your story to you; on the contrary, it's the sort of idea that tells you what you want your story to be.
I've been hung up on this idea for a few days now, stringing possibilities along, trying to wrap my head around different options and plots. I'm not asking for idea suggestions. I'm asking you this:
When you're inspired with an idea, but you can't seem to draw much from it, what then? What about when you try to read up on history, myths, legends and research possible paths, but nothing seems to jump out at you? Nothing seems right for this idea ... would you give up on it altogether, or simply wait for another inspiration, or ...
What would you do?
(Am I even remotely making any comprehensible sense?)
