A week later, he&#039;s a steroid user. Than his cousin &#039;&#039;injecting him.&#039;&#039; Than he leaves ST with his cousin. Than he finds out he may need hip surgery. For as great of a player as he is, was he worth the trouble of giving a 10 year contract? Why did they give him a 10 year contract anyway? Who else was competing for him last season? Doesn&#039;t anyone remember Brian Cashman saying &#039;&#039;We won&#039;t negotiate if he opts out.&#039;&#039; Well, Tom Hicks could forgive A-Rod for his &#039;&#039;under the cover steroids&#039;&#039;, because he saved him 21 million. It&#039;s just business. They practically bid against themselves for him.
