I am adopting a Female Beagle/Corgi Mix from an animal shelter locally. The pet will be spayed, microchipped, and is up-to-date on all of her routine shots. I live in a Temperate Climate, so winter is coming, if not technically already here, and I am not so worried about Fleas/Ticks, especially since I am not around any wooded areas, however naturally once spring rolls around she will be on Flea & Tick medicine. My question, or rather string of questions is this:
I have owned and been around Labrador and Lab Mixes all my life, this is the first smaller dog I will be owning, and therefore I wanted to get some general advice about diet, living conditions. Obviously daily walks, brushing, and the natural necessites are not new to me, but I am interested to hear from any owners of Beagles or Corgi's or the mix to see if they have learned any tricks of the trade, if you will, or have some good experience to offer. I have a full yard and at the moment no other dogs or pets. I am use to rearing medium-large labs, and this will be a first, so any help or general advice would be appreciated and any experienced and specific advice would be most welcome.
